Gear Review: Lectrosonics PDR Body Pack Recoder

A few days ago, Lectrosonics made waves on the Internet (or at least in my nerdy corner of the Internet) when it announced a tiny digital body pack recorder. I had a job on election night that this thing was perfect for, so I managed to convince a dealer to overnight me one of the precious few Lectro had given them.  (Shoutout to the awesome people at TAI Audio in Orlando!) Sennheiser Wireless: Old Gear, New Uses

Let's be honest, the Sennheiser G3 wireless is a staple of the budget-conscious sound kit. Many sound mixers, myself included, used them for talent lavs on smaller productions before they could afford to upgrade to Lectrosonics or Zaxcom units. Once I made that leap to Lectro, though, my G3s sat around collecting dust for a while, until some research and rethinking revealed how helpful they could be in other parts of my workflow.
